Opinion: land invasion has to be treated as what it is, a crime

(Opinion) The governor of Mato Grosso is setting an example to other governors to guarantee a fundamental clause of the Constitution, the property right.

The caput of Article 5 lists the rights and places life and property on the same level, even on the same line.

With the Secretary of Security at his side, Governor Mauro Mendes Ferreira said, “don’t you dare invade other people’s property here in Mato Grosso.”

“I have ordered the Secretary of Security to apply zero tolerance for this crime.” And it is really a crime to invade other people’s . . .
