Opinion: in the country of ethanol, does the electric car have a future?

(Opinion) Electric cars are the new frontier of the global green movement, a supposed panacea to end gas emissions that accelerate climate change.

American states like New York and California, and the European Union, have already passed laws banning the sale of gasoline-powered cars and light trucks after 2035.

In Brazil, a bill proposed by Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) established a ban on combustion vehicles starting in 2040.
