A pedestrian bridge, which is over the Mampituba River and connects the cities of Torres in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) and Passo de Torres in Santa Catarina (SC), collapsed around 2:30 am this Monday (20).
The firemen were called and rescued at least 30 people from the water; three are missing, including a mother and a one-year-old child.
The bridge was only for pedestrians; it was 30 meters long and supported by cables.
According to the municipality of Torres, about 100 people were walking over the bridge at the time of the accident, despite a sign . . .
