At a meeting with Brazilian finance minister, congressmen denounce tax evasion by Chinese companies

In a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, on Wednesday (15), deputies and senators from the Joint Parliamentary Front for Entrepreneurship (FPE) denounced the tax evasion of Chinese companies. They called for an end to “digital smuggling”.

“Brazil today receives 500 thousand packages daily from China, where the values are underpriced, and the packages are multiplied.”

“You buy five T-shirts from Shein (a Chinese company). It sends five packages, one with each shirt, to be below the taxed value of US$50 (R$ 262).”
